Ceramic tile floors and porcelain tile floors are incredibly durable but there are a few things that can make it easy to keep them clean and looking good.Porcelain Tile Cape Town
Here are the simple steps you can follow:
Clean up loose debris
Regularly sweep or vacuum your tile floors to prevent them from becoming dull. Ceramic tiles may be dust resistant, but the glazed surfaces may be dulled by sand and grit.
Choose the right floor mop
Use a rag or chamois-type mop instead of a sponge mop to wash the tile with mild detergent and clean water. Rag and chamois-style mops are better for tile cleaning because sponge mops tend to push dirty water into the grout lines, making it more difficult to wash them.
Be sure to change the water frequently while mopping; dirty water equals a cloudy floor.
Be on the look for tile stains
If you find discolouration, try to determine what type of substance the stain was made and use the right cleaner to remove it;
Watch for soap residue
Even after washing, if your tiles look hazy, you might be dealing with soapy residue. Clean the film with a non-abrasive all-purpose cleaner. You could also use a home-made mild acid cleaner on ceramic or porcelain tiles (but never on stone tiles), such as fresh lemon juice.
Dry tiles too
Don’t let your glazed tile floors air-dry — the sitting water will form water spots. Take care of this by drying the floor with a clean, lint-free cloth immediately after washing.
TileSpace Tip: Be kind to your knees and dry tiles the easy way—using your foot to slide the cloth over the floor.
